Sometimes I think I started the 'shmile' (shut eye smile). My three-year-old Libra self agrees!
Hello! I'm your zestful island girl thriving in the city. I explore the world in a heartbeat with spontaneity. If I were your friend, I would call and tell you I'm flying to the other side of the world to see you. The same goes for my dreams! I left Saipan, a one-of-a-kind paradise, and left home to challenge myself. I scream for possibilities and turn them into realities! Let's be friends, yeah?

Riane Capalad is a strategist at Digitas and a creative writer for print and digital platforms. She traces her roots back to the Pacific Isles and gives it credit for the richness in culture and diversity that inspired a future in the media and advertising industry. Born in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and raised in the Philippines, Riane discovered herself developing creative content in one of the world's most remote regions at a young age. In the remoteness and the rareness of existence, she found herself yearning to tell the many untold stories that demand the attention of readers, travel wanderlusts, and world leaders.
Riane holds a Masters degree in strategic communications at the University of Delaware and a Bachelor of Arts degree in multimedia arts and communications from Malayan Colleges of Laguna, Philippines. She joined the American Association of Advertising Agencies and was a member of the 2022 Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP) cohort. Previously, she was Hearst/Oprah Daily's Editorial Intern at Hearst Magazines. After receiving The One Club MAIP Creative Fellow of the Year award, she concluded this internship program with distinction. Riane believes the world is a vast place that is never short of opportunities. As a certified scuba diver, this vastness extends on land and under the sea, which she journeys and discovers. She also finds calm through journaling, traveling, and racing to catch those luminous sunset flashes.
