Riane Capalad was born in Saipan, the largest in the Northern Mariana Islands, and raised in the Philippines. As a little girl, she has always been a storyteller and that's what inspired her to keep moving in life. She loves to travel (even deep down in the ocean) and catch the sunset. She's also a huge fan of Greta Gerwig's films. Riane is a content producer, video creator, creative writer, and host for video series and shows online on island (Northern Mariana Islands). She graduated cum laude with her BA degree in Multimedia Arts major in Communication from Malayan Colleges Lagunain 2018. She is currently pursuing her Masters, Strategic Communication at the University of Delaware. Riane became Miss Northern Marianas 2nd runner up in 2019.

We have set the vision. We acknowledge the problem. What do we do next? Public Private Partnerships have offered governments and states across the world a powerful policy tool for improving the economic sustainability of destinations and enhancing its quality of services. The Council is seeking to capture this potential through a formal collaboration with organizations and stakeholders in the community. The PPP Program is a commitment between a private organization or a non-profit organization with the Council of Economic Advisers and key government agencies to collaboratively maintain, enhance, and transform a site for a period of five years. Since initiating the PPP program, the Council, Governor Torres, and Chairman Tan actively engaged civic organizations and business leaders across the CNMI to participate in adopting a public site, and coordinated collaboration with government agencies to reinvigorate and redevelop these destinations. P A C I F I C A R E A C T S: An artwork reaction video for the 2020 Annual Pacifica Art Contest, Category 1: Ages 6-11 years ***Stay tuned for Pacifica Reacts, Category 2: Ages 12-17 years*** Winners of this year's art contest: Category 1: Erika Pascual, original art piece submitted in 2017 Category 2: Mikeala San Nicolas, original art piece submitted in 2014 Our approach to this year’s contest was different given the circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic. Instead of holding a full-fledged contest, which normally involved the active involvement of students, school administrators, teachers and contest coordinators, we decided to revisit top entries dating back to 2014. With over 1,500 entries to date since the establishment of Pacifica Art Contest, we dedicated this year to all artists who took part in previous years’ annual contests by giving them another chance at winning. There were two rounds of judging this year to determine the final outcomes. A total of 60 pieces went through the first round.
