Riane Capalad is a writer, video producer, and content strategist for digital, print, and production. Her experiences in advertising led her to understand the technical and creative process of producing compelling and meaningful content. Anything within the orbit of creativity, lifestyle, and culture will make her write nonstop. She is also proud to be a MAIP 2022 fellow. Previously, Riane was the editorial intern for Oprah Daily (Hearst Magazines) and worked at Marianas Variety, Micronesia’s leading newspaper since 1972. She also freelanced as a Video Director for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) Government Council of Economic Affairs to launch the "Together We Can" campaign program.
She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in multimedia arts and communication in 2018. At present, she is finishing a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication at the University of Delaware. Riane is a Filipina Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) born in Saipan, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI).
She’s a certified scuba diver, and her love language is sunset. Riane loves to travel (even under the sea), eat chicken tikka masala with peshwari naan bread, and explore the jungle. When she’s not working, she’s either running, journaling, or planning her next trip to who knows where!
